Deutsch Dojo is a practice trainer for the Goethe-Institut German exams. It gives you the official practice exam sets with the original audio, an exam timer and automatic marking for listening and reading, plus an AI examiner for writing and speaking. Alongside the timed exams there is an email trainer, a speaking card game and a shared leaderboard.

A1 — Start Deutsch 1 — is available now, with three official exam sets. A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 appear in the level picker and are marked coming soon.

Right here in your browser — desktop, tablet or phone, nothing to install. Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon and will share the same account and the same leaderboard.

Deutsch Dojo is free to use, with no ads. Everything — the exam sets, the AI examiner, the email trainer and the partner game — is available at no cost.

The interface is available in English, German and Macedonian, switchable from the header at any time. The exam content itself stays in German — as it is in the real exam — with a translation button next to every prompt, question and answer.

Each set has the four modules of the real exam: Hören (listening, approx. 20 min, 3 parts, 15 questions), Lesen (reading, 25 min, 3 parts, 15 questions), Schreiben (writing, 20 min, a form plus a short email) and Sprechen (speaking, approx. 15 min, 3 parts). Each module is worth 25 points. A1 currently has three sets: the Modellsatz and Übungssatz 01 and 02.

Yes. Every task and every audio track is the Goethe-Institut's own freely published practice material — nothing is imitated or re-recorded. The trainer also enforces the same replay limits the real exam uses.

Hören and Lesen are marked automatically. Schreiben and Sprechen are graded by a virtual examiner (AI) against the official rubric — you get a score, your German corrected, and a model answer to compare against. Every submission counts as a take.

60 of 100 points, the same threshold as the real exam. The trainer shows your score per module so you can see exactly where the points are going missing.

As often as you like. Each attempt is saved as a take, and your profile tracks your best score as well as your average, so repeated practice is rewarded rather than penalised.

No. Every German prompt, question and answer has a translation button beside it, and there is a switch to reveal all translations at once. You can work through a task you only half understand and check yourself line by line.

Writing (Schreiben Teil 2) outside the timed exam. There are 15 real exam tasks — write the email, and the AI examiner grades it with the official rubric, corrects your German and shows a model answer. There is a quiz mode that hands you a random task, a phrase bank, a set of model letters, and a separate leaderboard just for emails.

A card deck for the speaking exam (Sprechen Teil 2 & 3). Tap Roll, get a word or picture card, and ask your partner a question about it. There are 176 cards including every official one, the card name stays hidden until you tap it, and every card carries an example question. Two phones, no internet needed, nothing scored — it is practice, not a test.

You climb levels by putting in practice time, each with its own title. The leaderboard ranks players by their best points and is shared between the trainer and the mobile app, so one account means one ranking wherever you practise.

Yes — but it takes one click. Sign in with your Google account and you're in; there is no form to fill in, no password to invent and no email to confirm. That account is what saves your progress, keeps the trainer and the mobile app in sync, and puts you on the leaderboard.

No. Your written answers, the examiner's feedback and your email address are never shown to anyone else. Other players only see your display name, avatar and scores on the leaderboard.

Yes. Switch your profile to anonymous mode from the account panel and your real name is replaced everywhere public by a generated alias such as "Anonym 7". You can switch back whenever you like.

Never. The Sprechen module is answered by typing, and the trainer asks for no microphone access at all. It plays the exam audio, but it does not listen.

Your Google account email, a display name and avatar, and your exam attempts — answers, scores and examiner feedback. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking. The full description is in the Privacy Policy.

When you submit a writing or speaking task, the task and your answer are sent to our own server endpoint, which forwards them to Google Gemini for grading. Your name and email are not part of that request. Please avoid putting real personal details into a practice answer.

Yes. Open the account panel from the header, choose Delete account and confirm — your profile and all your attempts are deleted straight away. If you would rather we did it for you, email info@bearacle.com.

No. Deutsch Dojo is an independent practice trainer built by Bearacle. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Goethe-Institut. The exam tasks and audio are the official, freely available practice materials published at goethe.de, © Goethe-Institut.

It is a good signal, not a guarantee. Listening and reading are marked exactly as the real exam marks them. Writing and speaking are graded by AI against the official rubric, which is a close approximation of a human examiner but not a substitute for one — and the real Sprechen exam is spoken aloud in a group, which no app can fully rehearse.
