Deutsch Terms of Service
Deutsch Dojo
Effective date: 2 August 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Deutsch Dojo — the web trainer at deutschdojo.com and the Deutsch Dojo mobile apps (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Bearacle LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("we", "us", "our").
By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Deutsch Dojo is
Deutsch Dojo is an independent practice trainer for the Goethe-Institut German language exams. It provides official practice exam sets, an exam timer, automatic marking for the listening and reading modules, AI-assisted grading for the writing and speaking modules, an email trainer, a speaking card game and a shared leaderboard.
Deutsch Dojo is not an official Goethe-Institut product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to the Goethe-Institut in any way. Nothing produced by the Service is an official exam result, certificate or qualification, and we cannot register you for an exam.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your account
Practising requires an account, which is created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with and for any activity that takes place under your Deutsch Dojo account. Accounts are for individual people; please do not share one.
You may delete your account at any time from the account panel, which deletes your profile and your saved attempts. See the Privacy Policy for what we store and for how long.
4. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, resell or republish the exam content, audio or any other part of the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract content or to submit attempts
- Interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, our servers, our database, or another user's account or data
- Use a display name, alias or submitted text that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, obscene or that impersonates someone else
- Use the Service to submit content you do not have the right to submit, or anything containing another person's private information
- Use the Service in a way that breaks any applicable law
We may remove content, reset a display name, or suspend or terminate an account that breaches these rules.
5. Practice results and AI grading
Listening and reading are marked automatically against the official answer keys. Writing and speaking are graded by an AI examiner against the official rubric.
AI grading is an approximation. Scores and feedback are generated automatically, may be wrong or inconsistent, and are provided for practice only. A result in Deutsch Dojo is not a prediction, promise or guarantee of your performance in a real Goethe-Institut exam, and nothing in the Service is educational, professional or legal advice.
Written submissions are processed by a third-party AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy. Please do not put real personal, financial or otherwise sensitive information into a practice answer.
6. Intellectual property
Exam material. The exam tasks, images and audio are the official, freely available practice materials published by the Goethe-Institut at goethe.de and remain © Goethe-Institut. They are used here for practice purposes. All rights in that material belong to the Goethe-Institut, and these Terms give you no rights to it beyond using it within the Service.
The Service. The Deutsch Dojo software, interface, design, name and logo belong to Bearacle LLC. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own language practice.
Your submissions. Your written answers stay yours. By submitting them you give us permission to store, process, transmit to our AI grading provider, and display them back to you, so that we can operate the Service. We do not publish your answers to other users.
7. Leaderboard and public information
The Service includes a shared leaderboard. When you complete an attempt, your display name, avatar, level, scores and attempt dates may be shown to other users. Your written answers, examiner feedback and email address are not. If you would prefer not to appear under your real name, switch your profile to anonymous mode in the account panel.
8. Availability and changes
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, exam levels or the Service as a whole at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. If we ever introduce paid features, we will make that clear before you are charged for anything.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; the sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) continue to apply.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that scores or feedback will be accurate, or that the Service will be secure, uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bearacle LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, exam results, opportunities or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, the EEA, the UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in your own courts.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and material changes will be signposted in the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
